We hit up Hannah Biddle, Los Angeles-based celebrity makeup artist, practical joke lover and aficionado of espresso, dark chocolate and Magnolia Bakery, for her beauty must-haves, game changers and hacks. Note taking is recommended.
1.) A great red lipstick that’s perfect for your complexion. A red lip paired with a bare face is so timeless and chic, and it really makes a statement. Most important part is choosing the perfect shade for your skin tone.
2.) Yellow-gold eyeshadow is trending for fall right now and there’s a look for everyone — used as a liner for a clean subtle effect, dabbed all over the lids for more intensity, or worn on top of your favorite eyeshadow by dabbing just in the center of the lid.
1.) I love using my contour product, bronzer or eyebrow powder also in the crease of the eye. It’s the perfect way to add soft definition to the eyes and makes them appear larger. This is great because your makeup will look cohesive and it’s one less product you need to reach for.
2.) I also use my highlighter product as an eyeshadow on the center of the lids and in the inner corners. I’m a fan of making the most out of a product.
3.) A drugstore clear mascara makes a great brow gel. Most you can find are under $6 and in my opinion are just as good as the pricey department store clear brow gels.
1.) Muji is my obsession. They sell these tiny containers in every size and shape for all your beauty needs. A hydrating mist is an essential of mine, so I decant my favorite mist into a tiny Muji spray bottle to carry in my purse.
2.) A sheer reflective concealer for under eyes will make you appear wide awake and refreshed in an instant. I never leave home without one. So many women overlook a product like this, but it really changes your appearance and makes you look younger.
3.) A really great eye blender brush is a beauty essential and will last you for years. It’s one tool that gives your makeup a more professional look.
1.) I use a baby toothbrush for grooming eyebrows. It’s by far my favorite tool for brushing brows into place and it’s under $5. My kit isn’t complete without one.
2.) A lip scrub is a necessity during the winter months. I’m shocked by how few women actually use one, but it really makes a huge difference. Use it to slough away dry, dead skin on the lips for a smooth pout.
