When we asked Shekinah to spill what’s in her brush kit, she told us she’s obsessed with brushes from Crown Brush. “I use brushes from their Syntho series because Syntho fiber is perfect for powder, liquid and cream products,” she says. “Each tip of hair is razor cut to mimic natural bristle, yet feels softer than any natural bristle you can find. These brushes have been in my kit for over five years and I haven’t needed to replace them yet! And they’re animal cruelty-free!”
Shekinah Garner (SG): Perfect for the base or all-over color. This is the first brush I use in my shadow application routine, but I also do finishing blending with it, too. It’s the master blender!
SG: For my more specific placement of color such as crease and/or outer and inner corners. If you’re doing a smoky eye, this brush is going to be you’re best friend!
SG: I use this one for right under the brow. Sometimes I use a soft pencil a few shades lighter than the skin to line under the brow, sometimes I use a shadow highlight instead (and sometimes I do both!). Regardless of application, this little brush blend outs that pencil line and applies my highlight on the brow bone.
SG: This brush is perfect for applying shadow under the bottom lash line to give eyes more definition and a wider look. If I use a pencil liner under the eye instead of shadow, I still use this brush to soften the line. Its short hairs are firm yet soft (not prickly), so this delicate area isn’t ever irritated.
