Elevate your hair game for spring with these pro tricks from celebrity hair stylist Jen Atkin.
Sometimes it’s the smallest tweaks that can make the biggest impact in upping your look, whether you’re caring for your hair better or styling it in a fresh way. “It’s all about the hair hack!” says Jen Atkin, celebrity stylist and founder of Mane Addicts. “The little steps that create amazing outcomes.”
Rotate Jen’s 4 sweet tricks in your beauty arsenal for an instant update:
- Use a toothbrush. Eliminate flyaway by spraying a toothbrush with hairspray then brushing on the hair. This removes frizz without compromising body.
- Re-purpose your hand or body lotion. If you’re in a pinch for styling product and your ends are fluffy or dry, a TINY bit of lotion on the ends moisturizes the hair and provides piece separation.
- Put a little spa in your workout. If you’re heading to the gym, be sure to deep condition your strands at the same time. Just put in your favorite deep conditioner (or coconut oil) and pull your hair back or put in a braid. The heat from the gym and exercise causes the cuticle layer of your hair to open and absorb the moisture more effectively.
- Bling out your locks. Get creative with your hair accessories! I love decorative bobby pins for spring because they’re so cheap and easy to do! Just stack a few (or a bunch) to create a bold shape and keep your hair in place.
