What happens when you give green beauty expert and vlogger Teri Miyahira our sapphire-shaded eyeliner and permission to play? A handful of gorgeous twists on the classic cat eye plus the DIYs.
It Girls, street stylers and A-listers have been jumping on the blue liner bandwagon and it’s no wonder. This universally flattering trend instantly updates traditional black liner looks and works brilliantly with all eye colors and skin tones.
We gave green beauty expert and (rockstar) vlogger Teri Miyahira our True Velvet Eyeliner in Truly Sapphire, a deep, rich shade of blue that easily transitions from subtle to sultry. She disappeared into her makeup studio and came out 24 hours later with four hot new Get the Looks.
Check out her riffs, channel the inspo and create your own signature style:
Step 1: Using a sharpened Truly Sapphire True Velvet pencil, draw a wing along the top lash line from the inner to the outer corner, winging it as far out as you like. More wing equals more drama!
Step 2: Keep the look crisp, clean and modern by applying True Velvet Eyeliner in Eye Opener, a sleek, subtle nude shade, on the bottom waterline. Bonus: This eye-opening trick also gives eyes a brighter, more wide-eyed look.
Step 3: Sweep Luminizing Powder in Dusk Reflection on cheekbones for subtle definition.
Step 4: Lightly pat Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Strawberry Kiss onto lips with a fingertip and blend for a stained effect.
Step 1: Reverse your cat eye by applying Truly Sapphire eyeliner to the bottom lashline only, creating a slight flick on the outer corners to keep the eye shape uplifted. You only need a small wing to create a gorgeous look.
Step 2: Add extra light to the eyes by applying the lightest color of the Heather Mauve Eyeshadow Trio, a shimmery pink, on the top eyelid only.
Step 3: Top off the look with a generous application of Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Mulberry Kiss on lips.
Step 1: Contour the eyelid crease using the darkest matte brown in the Soft Sand Eyeshadow Trio.
Step 2: Pencil in Truly Sapphire eyeliner onto the top and bottom lashlines, and then blend with the sponge tip.
Step 3: Amp up definition by adding eyeliner to the bottom waterlines.
Step 4: Add a pop of rosiness to the cheeks with a light layer of Créme Blush in Truly Flirting.
Step 5: Sweep Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Melon Kiss for a soft, luscious pink lip.
Step 1: Go all out by liberally applying sapphire eyeliner to your top lids and lower lashlines, and blend with the sponge tip applicator.
Step 2: Apply sapphire eyeliner on the bottom waterlines.
Step 3: Smoke out the look by applying the darkest matte grey shade in the Smoky Grey Eyeshadow Trip to the outer corners of the eye in a v-shape.
Step 4: Finish with an updated monochromatic skin look by dabbing Crème Blush in Truly Exciting to both cheeks and lips.
